Interning is the means to an end, the end being Jeezy.

I'm still really confused by myself when I think about interning... so my only answer for this question is because it is what God wanted for me... I know i know it sounds sunday schoolish... but honestly that's the only answer I got... cause I have no idea how this happened... but I'm excited!

This sounds cliche but it's not. The Body in Athens changed my life at UGA, and Wesley was an important part of that. I knew that I could grow in my relationship with the Lord further by having a season of mini-ministry school right in Athens, Georgia once I finished school.

also---this place and these people changed my life, why not go further and intern? the lord birthed that desire in me. this is legit considering i used to think interning was for losers.

Well...I actually had many reasons why I "wasn't going to intern" for so long that I just kind of ran out of excuses. When I learned more about the internship from meeting with Clay, it made me really excited. I saw the potential to grow in the area of my ministry as well as in discipleship. More and more I am seeing the importance of discipleship, so I was drawn to this and look forward to that being a big part of my job as an intern.

-to grow in fellowship with the body of christ; to actually be the church instead of waiting and being passive (i.e. the book we're reading right now)
-to lay all things aside to pursue christ. and learn what the heck that looks like.
-jesus.
-begin my marriage in a ministry setting; to learn to pursue christ as one in my marriage.
-to pour into the city of athens--the lord has absolutely brought me here, i have no doubt that he did that for a reason.

And to answer the question, Im interning because I really want to know the love of the Lord and I feel like He has that for me this year. I've gone back and forth between interning and not interning, I said at the very beginning of this year that I couldn't see myself being an intern but that wasn't because I didn't want to do;Iv'e kind of always wanted to do it. I just feel like the Lord is really about to shake me up and Im excited. It's like that John Gregory song, "Ride of Your Life." You guys should look it up.

Time to get a guy's answer on the board.

This summer I'm working as a camp counselor out in Texas. While getting to know some of our brothers and sisters here, these are some of the answers I give them when they ask why I am interning at a campus ministry next year:

- to grow in my understanding of full-time ministry and where I ultimately fit into that
- to better understand where and what God is calling me to personally
- to pour into freshmen and pray earnestly that God will change their lives forever
- to engage in edification of the body through discipling others and being discipled
- to learn how God will radically grow my faith through raising support and depending on His provision

So...a little late but I'm interning because
-I really believe that's what He wanted me to do.
-Also, I love being in the community at Wesley and i just love being submerged in God's people.

My answer is fairly simple. I just wanted to see what life in full time ministry is like. I wanted to see if I had the drive to be under "official" church employ. I think I also wanted to make sure that I was in Athens for the right amount of time for my spiritual growth. So we'll see.

I really wanted to intern for several reasons. This is my starting point, if you will, for my life in the ministry. I really Want to grow and learn from the people around me. I really want to pour into people's life's. I really want to see Wesley grow spirtually, I really want to see the power of God. I want to experience all of this and more! I can not wait to be apart of God's plan.

I looked at my schedule in October and realized that I would only have 9 hours of school left in the fall. So when I saw that I realized that interning was a possibility for me this school year. I've always wanted to do it. I love the ministry and to be able to be a part of it full time is so cool to me. Also I really feel compelled to be a pastor and I think that working at Wesley will help me pick up some key things that I need to be effective in serving God in that role. Above everything though, I just want to see God glorified this next year and I feel that interning at Wesley is the way that I'm supposed to do it. I'm excited about every aspect of it from discipling to leading worship to getting up early for 730 prayer. I'm stoked.
